DDR at 2014 AAHPERD National Convention & Expo

Konami's popular dance dame DanceDanceRevolution (DDR) was one of more than 200 solutions presented at the 2014 AAHPERD National Convention & Expo, held at the Americas Center in St. Louis, Missouri from April 1 to 5. DDR was also the topic of a symposium at this year's event. Researchers from the University of Minnesota and Texas A&M University presented findings of their study of the effects that a DDR-based exercise program had on children's physical activity levels and self-esteem. While the study did not reveal that the DDR program had a significant effect on kids' self-esteem after being implemented over a period of one school year, the program did significantly increase the children's seven-day physical activity levels.
