The Amazfit Smartwatch is a fitness tracker that offers real-time GPS-tracking and heart rate monitoring to help users exercise more effectively and improve their fitness level.
The Amazfit Smartwatch, the latest affordable smart fitness and activity tracker to hit the market, is a versatile piece of wearable technology that enables users to monitor their activity and exercise more effectively. The watch has a built-in PPG sensor which, combined with an independent algorithm, allows wearers to monitor their heart rate during exercise, while its GPS real-time tracking technology lets them record their distance, trail, speed, altitude and other data to help them analyze and improve their fitness level.
The watch has a 1.34-inch display with a resolution of 300x300 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512 MB RAM. With 4GB of internal storage, the watch is packed with various software and activity-tracking sensors, including a heart rate sensor, a 28 nm GPS, and near-field communication (NFC) technology. It works with the latest Xiaomi MiFit app for Android and iOS devices, which allows users to get intelligent reminders, alerts, and incoming social media messages, texts and calls.
The watch has 35 hours of battery life with all functions enabled, including GPS-tracking, but can last for as many as five days if it used for up to an hour per day. Wearers who only use it as a pedometer can get as many as 11 days of battery life out of it.
The Amazfit Smartwatch was developed by Huami, the world's second largest manufacturer or wearable technology. Launched in 2014, the company is dedicated to developing technologies that connect biomechanical signals with users' daily activities and to offering smart data services to promote healthy habits. The company also designs and manufactures the popular Mi Band and Mi Band 2 under the Xiaomi brand. With its own Amazfit brand, Huami's goal is to deliver smart, affordable fitness solutions and to make wearables more accessible to all. The company is based in Mountain View, California, and has offices in Beijing, Shenzhen and Hefei, China.
The Amazfit Smartwatch supports Bluetooth 4 LE, GPS, Wi-Fi and Alibaba's AliPay mobile payment service. It is made of dust-proof, water- and scratch-resistant materials and comes with a dual-colour sport wristband. The watch was launched in China earlier this month and is available from all popular online retailers.
